This classic bread dip is a staple at many Italian restaurants. It is so easy to whip up and always is a hit with guests or even for a happy hour treat. Made with ingredients you are bound to have sitting in your pantry, make this your go to focaccia dip.
Ingredients:
1 cup high quality olive oil
1/4 cup high quality balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/2 tablespoon chili flakes (optional)
1/2 tablespoon rosemary (rosemary can be an overpowering flavor but if you like it go ahead and put the full tablespoon)
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions:
In a small bowl combine all the herbs and the cheese if using.
Pour the mixture onto a medium sized plate or shallow bowl
Pour the olive oil onto the herbs allowing it to saturate.
Pour the balsamic over the whole mixture. Separation is natural.
Slice focaccia bread into squares and dip the bread into the mixture.
Notes: Fresh herbs can be used for this as well, it will be clumpier but the taste is fresh and herb-y.
